Time Flies

It amazes me how quickly the months pass. I definitely need to put together some more “bloggy” posts, with photos and accounts of our Warren’s and my doings around the place. Meanwhile, here’s what’s been going on with getting my work published:

In October, RFD published another of my poems, “Legacy,” in issue 191, their “Gay Relatives” issue.

Also in October, on National Coming Out Day, the 11th, Eunoia Review re-published “Propolis,” my sonnet about honeybees and a life spent buzzing in ecstasy, which first appeared in queerbook from Philly AIDS Thrift @ Giovanni’s Room

Cerasus Magazine included “Inconvenient,” my poem about Warren and all the critters in our back yard and house. Cerasus is a big, beautiful, print-only magazine.

My verse in which my late mother speaks from the Halifax River, “Here to the River,” appeared in Tales Anthology Series, Tales from The Deep. This anthology is available from Amazon as either a paperback or a Kindle e-book.

In the winter of 2012-2013, Warren and I had a rough winter. I recounted it in a piece of memoir, “This Side the Ground” which has been published by Stoneboat Literary Journal in their Fall 2022 issue.

The December issue of Moss Piglet: Winter Wonderland, contains “In Winter,” about one of Warren’s bee yards in the winter. Currently, this poem isn’t available online, since Krazines follows a subscription-only model, but you may be able to order an individual copy of this December 2022 issue by requesting it directly from the editors.

One of my bits of memoir, a winter’s tale about the summertime, “Bats,” was published in the Winter 2023 Halfway Down the Stairs. It’s a strange little piece, but it ends well.

Issue 11 of Last Stanza Poetry Journal: The Outsider, contains a sonnet, “Like You,” in which I recall a particularly hard lesson taught to me by my eighth-grade English teacher. This anthology is available through Amazon.

In January, “Constantine” appeared in the Fall 2022 issue of The North Meridian Review and reprinted on their blog on April 2, 2023.

In February, Discretionary Love published “Phoenix,” my sonnet about having to start over, over and over.

And now Exterminating Angel Press Magazine has included “Special,” my paean to my mother’s – er – unusual approach to the culinary arts.
